Sulfasalazine is an anti-inflammatory medication consisting of a combination of 5-aminosalicylic acid and the sulphonamide sulfapyridine.Currently, this drug is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of ulcerative colitis and rheumatoid arthritis.
